City Heights E Act Academy FF&E Tender

City Heights E-Act Academy was a full FF&E tender project which Envoplan won by competitive tender to supply the main contractor, Carillion.

Brief

City Heights E-Act Academy was a full FF&E tender project which Envoplan won by competitive tender to supply the main contractor, Carillion. We worked closely with the school and the main contractor to deliver a furniture, fixtures and equipment package that met with the school’s individual requirements.

Envoplan was completing a larger FF&E tender project at a school close by. It was due to this that we had a proven record with Lambeth Council. They chose us because of the quality of furniture, and our ability to work to strict deadlines. Carillion were also looking for a partner in the project that was able to take on the final design of the rooms as well as the furniture package. They needed a company that was willing to work with both the construction company and the school. We assisted them with choosing colours and manufacturing bespoke items.

Challenge

Envoplan worked with all parties attending 14 pre-contract meetings, and for a fee, redesigning all the fixed furniture areas with 2D drawings. We designed and manufactured special sewing tables, tables with recharging facility for laptop and tablets, and study carrels for the inclusion area. We also installed our unique folding table range for the dining hall and breakout areas.

Carillion wanted to be ahead of schedule, so we stationed a member of staff on site every day for the final month of the project. This helped us to keep up-to-date with the progress, and gave us the ability to produce progress reports as-and-when they were required.

Solution

Using our in-house manufacturing facility, as well as excellent relationships with a number of dealers, we were able to supply and fit the required furniture to a strict budget, and within tight timescales.

The school environment looks stunning, and is durable enough to stand up to the everyday treatment of hundreds of teenagers. The school is still filling up, and aims to reach full capacity, including a 200-strong sixth form, by 2020.
