Ipswich High School

We were commissioned to create a high quality and welcoming reception area design for a leading independent girl’s school.

Brief

Envoplan have worked with Ipswich High School on multiple projects. This independent girl’s school, located on the banks of the River Orwell, offers a first-rate education to girls between the ages of 3 and 18. The grade II listed building, also known as Woolverstone Hall is a truly impressive learning environment.

Ipswich High School commissioned Envoplan to create a new and improved reception area design. The entranceway to the school is used to welcome new students and also as an informal meeting area. The furniture and décor needed to be timeless, yet in keeping with the prestigious Georgian building.

Challenge

We worked with Ipswich High School to develop an interior design scheme for the reception area that was in keeping with the rest of the building, yet still a welcoming atmosphere for students, parents or other stakeholders. All furniture needed to be the very best quality.

Solution

As educational furniture manufacturers, we put forward a stylish walnut veneer reception desk. This creates a compact centre ‘zone’ within the new reception area from which all the necessary admin is completed and the receptionist can keep a watchful eye on the main door, ready to welcome anyone who enters the school.

We installed top quality leather sofas, low tables and storage units during the reception area design process. The light green walls help to create a calming atmosphere, whilst the dark walnut veneer desks and brown leather chesterfield sofas give the space a sophisticated, elegant feel.

The sofas are located close to the large windows meaning that anyone waiting in the space can enjoy the view over the rolling Parkland down to the river.
