Dixons Carphone

We designed and manufactured creative office furniture solutions to suit our client’s desire for a more agile and open workspace within their new premises.

Envoplan partnered with Dixons Carphone to deliver creative office furniture solutions to their new headquarters. We manufactured all the desking for this project, and installed it on-site within very tight timescales. They chose our standard mono bench desking range, to which they can add a sit-stand function to any workstation as-and-when the need arises. We worked closely with Dixons Carphone on this project, and our flexibility meant that we accommodated a lot of changes throughout the venture. We continue to retrofit more height-adjustable units to their standard desking as time goes on. We didn’t supply the seating for this project.

Dixons Carphone had recently acquired a new premises in Acton. They were looking for a partner that could work to their fast moving program, as well as being an experienced office furniture manufacturers. They had commissioned an interior architect to design the space, but wanted to deal directly with a furniture manufacture to ensure competitive pricing and easy communication.

Dixons Carphone were moving over into a more agile working environment. The proposed design scheme consisted of a clean, modern look with minimal personal storage. The office furniture solutions scheme planned a move away from individually owned desk-and-pedestal workstations, and Dixons Carphone assigned each member of staff with a locker, desks are used on a hot-desking basis, and no-one actually owns their workstation. The use of sit-stand desks in this space helps to improve employee health and wellbeing.

As well as over 1,500 individual Mono Bench desking workstations, both fixed and sit-stand, Dixons Carphone also installed a number of more flexible working zones. These included 60 4-person café areas and a range of other break-out areas to suit a variety of meeting styles and sizes. The creative office furniture solutions project also included installation of desk-height and full-height storage.

This client wanted a clean and sophisticated design scheme. They implemented a clear desk policy, and chose a white and natural oak colour combination. This muted colour palette helped to make the offices feel more light and spacious.

Part of this extensive furniture installation project included working closely with the client to make sure that their cable management systems were fully functional for the users. This included making allowances for desktop power, monitor arms and facilitating easy cable access.

We also refurbished some of Dixons Carphone’s existing furniture to make sure it was in-keeping with the new environment. This included adding extra cable management to an old boardroom table.

This project was delivered to the client’s tight deadlines, working to a detailed phased installation program.
