Designed by Kampus and delivered by Envoplan, the spaces were created to support learning, inclusion and technology in practical, visible ways. The classrooms provided a testbed for future teaching environments, AIM placed student support at the heart of school life, and All Tech brought digital services into one clear, welcoming hub.
The Vision
The aim was not simply to refurbish rooms, but to explore what the future of Alleyn’s spaces could look and feel like. The classroom project allowed the school to trial five rooms, three general classrooms and two seminar spaces, in different orientations, testing ideas before committing to wider rollouts.
AIM and All Tech extended that thinking beyond the classroom. AIM was created to remove stigma around additional support and give pupils a calm, high-quality environment for access, inclusion and mentoring. All Tech brought a previously dispersed digital services team into one dedicated space, improving the experience for both staff and pupils.
Bringing the Vision to Life
Envoplan’s role was to bring Kampus’ designs to life through a carefully managed summer fit-out. With the school still active during the holidays, the programme required close communication, careful coordination around access, and respect for the wider site.
The finished spaces closely reflected the original CGI visuals, giving Alleyn’s confidence that its design ambitions had been fully realised. From finishes and acoustic details to signage, technology integration and furniture, the completed environments delivered the quality and functionality the school had set out to achieve.
Designing for Practical Learning
The classrooms were designed to feel calm, flexible and purposeful. Features such as whiteboards around the walls, carefully integrated technology, improved acoustics and colour-drenched finishes helped create rooms that support focus, confidence and different styles of teaching.
AIM provides light one-to-one meeting rooms, a seminar space for group teaching, and informal areas where pupils can pause during the school day. All Tech gives the digital services team a visible home, creating a more professional, approachable and efficient support experience for a school community of around 2,000 users.
The Impact
The response from pupils has been immediate. The new maths classrooms have quickly become favourites, with students commenting on the brighter, more approachable environment and the practical benefit of having more whiteboard space for working through ideas.
AIM has helped make support more visible, valued and accessible, while All Tech has transformed how digital services are delivered. The success of the projects has also been recognised externally, with Alleyn’s Classroom Transformation named a finalist for Interior Design Project of the Year and the AIM Centre named a finalist for SEND Project of the Year at the Property Estate Awards 2026.
