Summer Fields School Characterful Dining Hall

This rejuvenation of Summer Fields dining hall uses practical and durable furniture which works in harmony with the character.

Summer Fields' Brief

Rejuvenation of characterful dining hall – the interior design to be sympathetic with the era of the school, making the most of their existing architectural features.

Their brief specified a requirement for extra space for students which needed to create a real wow factor for visitors. In addition, the furniture needed to be both practical and durable and with all elements to work in harmony with the character of the space.

Our Challenge

The school wanted new multifunctionality to enable the space to be used for parent’s events as well as student dining, with all furniture comfortable, practical and sturdy for staff, students and parents in a refreshingly modern dining area.

Envoplan's Solution

A bespoke range of solid oak furniture was created that will stand the test of time and reflects the quality and attention to detail that the school is known for, with a very aesthetically pleasing appearance.

We also manufactured an oak table and bench set specifically for the younger prep school students, who can now enjoy eating alongside their peers and older pupils for increased socialisation and wellbeing.

The project also included upgrades to lighting, flooring, panelling and a complete redecoration of the room.
