Seaford College Technology Suite And Sixth Form Area Refurbishment

Uplifting Refurbishment to Food Technology Room and Sixth Form Centre

Brief

This project was split into two parts – the food technology suite and the new sixth form centre.  Seaford College asked us to design both schemes and then control the full fit out of the food technology suite and to source the furniture for the sixth form centre.  This required working with multiple stakeholders and differing complexities around the various elements of the project.  The College wanted to upgrade their spaces to match their refreshed branding and to give a more modern feel to the learning environments, bringing them in line with other developments that they have recently completed.

Challenge

Re-developing the food technology space to better serve a larger number of pupils and maintain good sight lines resulted in a number of scheme developments from our design team to arrive at a final layout that works for the students and the teaching staff.  These key developments helped to form a strong team around the project that understood the original vision at the point of final delivery and installation.

Solution

Working with the estates team at the College, we prepared a number of design solutions that were shared across the senior leadership team to arrive at a collaborative end result which provides the students with a modern and invigorating learning environment.  Bespoke manufactured lockers, desking and soft seating was mixed with new dining furniture and task seating to create a coherent scheme across many different areas.  Our team managed the complete installation of the furniture, as well as the project management and fit out of the food technology suite.
